America, the land of the free home of the brave, is our slogan. However, America has a problem providing health care for all its citizens. According to a Kaiser Commission report published in January 2007, there are nearly 1.3 million people under age 65 are living in America without health care.
This an alarming number of individuals who cannot seek help for the beginning stages of cancer, heart disease and numerous other aliments. State governments have taken it upon themselves to provide affordable state funded health care plans. The federal government, however continues to ignore the problem.
The presidential candidates running for president in 2008 are now proposing Universal Health Care as a solution to the countries health care crisis. But who benefits most from this initiative, the citizens of America or big business?
